“We are incredibly grateful, . . our garden has been transformed”

In November 2010, the Muscles team were invited to clear shrubbery and a wooden fence that had been buried in ivy for over a decade in the rear garden of an Ipswich home, with great views over the town.

The recipients also indicated that their donation would go to a christian based charity in Africa. Rwanda Direct is an initiative by Ipswich Waterfront Churches, working in conjunction with TWAM (Tools with a mission) providing computers for libraries, sewing and knitting machines for widows and orphans of the genocide, purchasing cows to help sustain families and provide hope for the future.

During  July 2011, the ‘mid week’ (pictured bottom left) and ‘weekend team’ (pictured bottom right) descended on John and Midge’s garden in North Hill Road and completed the transformation in a week.

Clearing the shrubbery, trees and replacing 42 feet of wooden fence resulted in the following message from the happy couple,

“Midge and I have been eating our supper, and reflecting on what an amazing few days these have been.
We have met such lovely people, – Alan and Sarah and Will, Elaine,  Alan,  Tony,  Charlotte and Chris,  Steve,  Glenna and yourself, – and at the end of it all our garden has been  transformed!
On top of all that, we have the added bonus of our drain pipe  sorted and a taste of Glenna’s brownies.

Could you please convey our deepest  thanks and appreciation to all the team (not forgetting the ‘guest appearance’ from Steve  Kent !!).
We are incredibly grateful and rightly impressed with the results.
A cheque to Rwanda Direct is on its way.
Wishing you every blessing,
John and Midge.
