‘Tour de Cure’ is a series of fundraising cycling events held in 44 states across the USA to benefit the American Diabetes Association. The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. The Fundraising Goal for the 2013 ride from Redmond, near Seattle was $500,000.00

On Saturday 11th May 2013, the Muscles contribution to this goal was $1,839.00 (raised by four riders) and a total of 60 voluntary hours as eight team members operated one of Tour Rest Station at Camp Korey in the beautiful countryside near the Snoqualmie River valley.  Hundreds of riders, representing 94 different teams enjoyed wonderful weather and gorgeous scenery amongst the hills, lakes and countryside to the north and east of Redmond, WA. Whether the riders chose 10 miles or 100 miles, they traveled a route supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel the journey and fans to cheer them on. This was reflected by eight Muscles volunteers who operated the Rest Stop.  (Bill, Glenna, Sheri, Fred, Suzanne, Amy, Kelly and Ody).

On May 17th 2013, the Redmond, WA Tour De Cure Fundraiser, (Kimberly Buchan) sent the Muscles team the following e-mail “Thank you so very much. Your group is a bright spot for our event – riders LOVED your stop“.

Thanks to everyone involved.
