Muscles complete Maxines project’s and introduce her to Beekeeping skills

Eight ‘Muscles’ volunteers returned to Maxine’s home in Ipswich on Saturday 9th August to complete a series of projects inside the house and the garden. In addition to the fencing project, the expertise of Dougie Paine introduced Maxine to specialist skills requiring patience and protective clothing.

_DSC0002.jpeg IMG_1762Every Muscles team member has been touched by Maxine’s amazing spirit as she faces end of life challenges, summed up in her own words, “I am a daughter of Caribbean immigrants, I am 50 years young, I am a mother to my beautiful daughter, I am a sister, I am a registered nurse, I am a friend. I have terminal cancer and I am still me” 

Maxine summed up the Muscles team effort with the following comment,”I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet you all and to introduce you to my family. I must say that, as a group, the generosity, goodwill and aura you bring will remain with me for ever”  WP_20150808_013
