UK 2007

Twenty three projects were completed during the year, including a ‘masqued’ Charity Ball, the London to Paris cycle challenge, garden clearances and patios from Hornchurch to Gt Bealings, interior house painting in Manningtree, rebuilding a garden retaining wall in Ipswich and constructing steps in Bucklesham.

During the year the team contribution help Muscles for Charity pass the 5,000 voluntary hours milestone.

The most difficult and time consuming job of the year took place at a remote bungalow in the rural Suffolk setting of Stowlangtoft.  The garden area appeared to have grown over and all round a pensioners detached home, – until  eleven members of the team – including chain saw wielding ‘Gadget Man’ (Dave Dring) – fought their way through the over and undergrowth !

UNICEF benefitted from a very generous donation as the team tackled a major patio reconstruction job in Woodbridge Road East, Ipswich, which included breaking up the previous concrete base, which was 12 inches thick.

It is also the year when Fire Fighter John Boswell led the Cheshire based Muscles team into action.
