Pictures for 2007 feature, Sequim, Bellevue and the US Muscles team leader – Ody Larson.
Sequim, on the Olympic peninsula was the venue for the main summer 2008 Muscles for Charity project, and involved a yard make-over for a senior citizen. In additional to the international members, several Muscles volunteers drove from Spokane, WA ( a return journey of nearly 450 miles) to help with the job.
Fantastic commitment. Thanks guys.
Introducing the USA Team Leader – Ody Larson.
The epitomy and energy, muscles and motherhood. This one person combination of a whirlwind and Ever-ready battery has been at the forefront of Muscles activity since 2004 when she entered the ‘Tour de Cure’ cycle challenge just outside Seattle and raised money and awareness for American Diabetes.
Ever since her enthusiasm and ‘kick ass’ attitude has cheerfully led the skilled volunteers in the USA team to jobs across western Washington, from Shoreline to Sequim and Bellevue to Federal Way.
The Bellevue pictures were taken while the Muscles volunteers were relocating two very large grape vines, removing the existing trellis and old decking – and reinstalling four 4 x 4 x 8′ posts, together with a new trellis. The subsequent replacing of the grapevines and installing the new decking tested the skills and commitment of the USA team.

Melody, I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for what you and all the volunteers did for my parents yesterday.
My parents are people like all of you. When someone needs help they are the first to give of themselves. So have all of you come and give up your Sunday, work so very hard and accomplish all that you did, just amazed them and really filled them with joy.
I too, am amazed and extremely thankful for all that you did. It has been a tough for my dad with his advancing Parkinson’s, he just can’t do all that he use to. In earlier days he would have been the one swinging the hammer.
It feels great to know that I was able to help Helping Hands, an agency I am deeply committed to and help two people that I love dearly. But I could not have done it without every one of your volunteers. So please send mine and my parents thanks to everyone of the volunteers. You all do great things!
Best Regards, Jen Newman”
