Chilly conditions in the days leading up to the 2014 Lilac Bloomsday Run in Spokane,WA prepared a field of 49,094 (including Muscles volunteers Neal and daughter Jenny Leaf) for the undulating 7.46 mile course.
The Lilac Bloomsday Association is a non-profit corporation whose mission is to promote long distance running and physical fitness.
The Association was formed after the first Lilac Bloomsday Run in 1977. Veteran Neal has competed in almost every ‘race’, which this year was won by African powerhouse, Allan Kiprono.
